DELEGATE FROM NH TO ATTEND
LANCE ARMSTRONG FOUNDATION CANCER SUMMIT - Austin, Texas

I have been
blessed to be selected once again to work with the Lance Armstrong
Foundation in Austin Texas, on Oct 27th. I am a cancer survivor and
two time kidney transplant recipient. I have been chosen by the
Foundation as a delegate from NH to attend The LIVESTRONG Summit. It
is a three-day event to organize, inspire and direct the efforts of
cancer survivors from across the country to change the face of
cancer survivorship. Through the LIVESTRONG Summit, the Lance
Armstrong Foundation (LAF) hopes to lead a survivorship movement to
broaden awareness and impact the unmet physical, emotional and
practical needs of people living with cancer.

LIVESTRONG
Summit Weekend
Throughout
the weekend, LIVESTRONG Summit delegates will be inspired and led by
esteemed conference speakers such as:
Cancer
survivor and champion cyclist Lance Armstrong
Senator John Kerry
LaSalle D. Leffall, Jr., M.D., President's Cancer Panel Chair
Author Jim Collins
Mike Milken, FasterCures Chairman
Activist and professor Marshall Ganz
As a
LIVESTRONG Summit participant, I will develop goals and personal
action plans to raise awareness and effect change around the needs
of cancer survivors. I will then bring this information back to NH
and to my community.
Together as
a community we can fight this war. Please contact me if you'd like.
In health &
happiness,
Vanessa
ADVOCATE FROM NH TO ATTEND LIVESTRONG DAY 2006 -
Washington, D.C.
My trip to DC was POWERFUL!
The LAF brought advocates from all over the
country to meet with their senators and congressman.
I had the opportunity to meet with Lance, His
physician, Dr. Nichols, NH Congressman and Senators.
It was a lot to learn and a great deal of
information that I am so happy to be privy too. A bit scary , but good to
know!
The mission ... simply put, is to make CANCER A
NATIONAL PRIORITY. To allow good health care to all individuals regardless
of income levels.
WE HAVE STARTED THE MOVEMENT IN THE RIGHT
DIRECTION. I was honored and proud to be a part of it all, I plan to
continue to invest my time and efforts on this matter.
One thing we can all do ...
FROM NOW ON WHEN YOU ARE VOTING FOR, OR
CONSIDERING YOUR ELECTED OFFICIALS, ASK THEM WHAT THEIR STAND IS ON CANCER
AND SURVIVORSHIP ISSUES!
PUT THEM ON THE SPOT ! :)
1500 PEOPLE DIE EVERYDAY FROM CANCER, SO WE HAVE A 9-11 EVERY TWO DAYS IN
THIS COUNTRY!
Regardless of the
obstacles we all face daily, lets all try to
LivesStrong!
