About
the Trainer
Vanessa Underwood, of Underwood's Sports and Fitness, is a certified
personal trainer , strength and conditioning coach, and cancer
exercise specialist. She is a national fitness consultant, social
worker and motivational speaker.
For over 15 years Vanessa has been educating, training and
motivating people to reach their physical potential. Her clients
range from the Division 1 college athlete to the neighborhood mom.
As a
personal fitness trainer her
goals is to educate clients of all ages abilities. She works
with youth teens adults and senior citizens, and specialty
populations.
As a strength
coach she trains individual athletes, teams, and coaches with
her unique and customized
programs.
Whether you are an athlete looking to improve your
strength and
performance, or an individual looking to change your lifestyle,
Vanessa’s expertise and personal attention will bring you closer to
your goal.
As a cancer exercise specialist
(and survivor) she is working with cancer patients and survivors to
keep them strong during treatment while helping them recover and
rehab back to their previous levels of fitness.
Vanessa's passion and devotion to exercise and fitness has been
showcased in many advertisements, newspapers and magazines, such as
Women's Sports and Fitness ,Reebok, Saturday Evening Post , Women's
World . She has been featured on NESN, ESPN, CNN, WMUR, and various
radio shows
Her inspirational story of survivorship and success, was showcased
in a Black and White Photo Journal Essay and presented around
the country.
She has been profiled in a book called , "Lessons in Faith and
Courage".
She was recently selected to represent NH for the
Lance Armstrong Foundation
as an Advocate in Washington, DC
In October she was again chosen as delegate to attend the
Lance Armstrong Foundation
Summit in Austin Texas. (see video clip )
Vanessa continues to work closely
with the
Lance Armstrong Foundation,
and is currently planning The LiveStrong Obstacle Course /
Fitness Challenge, to raise money for cancer research, and the
Lance Armstrong Foundation.
